WHAT'S COOKING TALENT PODIUM
BERTHAJU
Berthaju is an upcoming Indie Pop Rock artist based in Rotterdam, who is mixing her purple nails with vibrant and shaky guitar layers. For three years, Berthaju has taken over control by writing, producing, and releasing her own tuneful and energetic songs. Berthaju’s specialty is melodies that will sneak into your brain like a craving for your favourite food.
By starting off the year with her new alternative dance music duo "nullzwei", which had a single be number one on the Global Viral Chart for over 10 days, Berthaju moves to the stage with her own band. The experience of a Berthaju live show is like seeing your best friend rocking the stage with edgy choreographies and affectionate energy that make you part of a jumping crowd.
Together with her band, she captivates the audience by blending produced soundscapes into the performance. Berthaju is currently working on releasing her debut EP called “BDC@18°”, (which translates to Black Food Color At Eighteen Degrees). A puzzle of her unapologetic and honest lyrics packed with detailed imagery to share a collection of what Berthaju’s future path will look like.

IMME

TALEE
Born out of a psychedelic experience, Rotterdam-based artist Talee takes you on a trip into the depths of his imagination. Utilizing his voice, vintage synthesizers, and guitar licks blended with electronic beats, Talee blurs the lines between genres, and forms a repertoire reminiscent of acts like LCD Soundsystem, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and James Blake.
Making his debut on Berlin-based record label Disco Halal, Talee presented two-track EPs ‘Romantic New Wave Vol 1’ and Vol. 2, under the mentorship of label-head Moscoman, touring the projects at 20+ live shows across the Netherlands. The same genre-bending attitude also shows in his DJ sets. During an episode of his ‘Romantic New Wave’ show on Rotterdam’s infamous Operator Radio you might hear him mix the latest Tame Impala into an old R&S record and mix back to an ecstatic club vibe within minutes.
Talee’s newest EP released in October 2023, on GRAMMY-nominated trio Above & Beyond’s third imprint Reflections and sister label to Anjunadeep. The five track ambient project titled ‘My Mother Was A Synthesizer’ tells a story of family through alternate perspectives. The EP explores intimate and distant emotions, and all the moments in between, while celebrating the strangers that become chosen family over time.
